About me

I'm Jakub, a fullstack developer based in Topoľčany, Slovakia, working remotely for MGA Insurance (Australia, remote). My work sits at the intersection of an established Perl core business system and the modern tools that need to connect to it: React and TypeScript frontends, REST APIs, MySQL, Power BI reporting, and AI integrations that extend the existing stack without compromising it.

I focus on problems with real constraints: long-lived systems that can't be rewritten, internal APIs that must be reachable from the cloud without being exposed, and reporting where the numbers have to reconcile exactly. Making established and modern infrastructure work together reliably is the core of what I do.

Outside of work I run local AI experiments on Apple Silicon and am expanding my deployment skills with Docker and AWS. This site runs on Vercel as part of that.
